Job Overview

MNP is a leading national accounting, tax, and business advisory firm in Canada, known for its entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to empowering teams. We're seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join our Assurance and Accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct compilation, review, and tax engagements with precision and attention to detail
  2. Set up files for new clients and businesses, ensuring seamless onboarding
  3. Manage multiple files simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
  4. Perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital asset acquisition, and disposition, as well as payroll walk-throughs with clients
  5. Prepare correspondence, technical reports, client summaries, and presentations outlining engagement findings and highlights
  6. Develop strong working relationships with clients, coaching and mentoring junior team members
  7. Participate in business development initiatives, identifying new opportunities and driving growth
  8. Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary, to support client needs

Requirements

  1. CPA designation or working towards CPA designation
  2. 2 to 4 years of relevant public accounting experience
  3. Background in Agriculture considered an asset
  4. Experience working with accounting and tax software
  5. Understanding of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles
