About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Assurance and Accounting team at MNP. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in providing high-quality accounting and tax services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct compilation, review, and tax engagements with precision and attention to detail
  2. Set up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses, ensuring seamless onboarding
  3. Manage multiple files simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
  4. Perform accounts receivable, accounts payable, capital asset acquisition and disposition, and payroll walk-throughs with clients, providing expert guidance
  5. Prepare correspondence, technical reports, client summaries, and presentations outlining engagement findings, facts, and highlights
  6. Develop effective working relationships with clients, coaching and mentoring junior team members to enhance their skills
  7. Participate in business development initiatives, identifying new business opportunities and contributing to the growth of our team
  8. Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary, to support client needs

Requirements

  1. CPA designation or working towards CPA designation, demonstrating a strong foundation in accounting principles
  2. 2 to 4 years of relevant public accounting experience, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results
  3. Background in Agriculture considered an asset, with experience working with accounting and tax software
  4. Understanding of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles, with a passion for staying up-to-date on industry trends
