Job Summary

This role is responsible for ensuring the quality of finished products by removing foreign materials and reacting to sudden quality changes. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the inspection process and be able to make sound judgments in high-pressure situations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect products for foreign materials and remove any defects or contaminants.
  • React to sudden quality changes and take corrective action to prevent further issues.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sweeping and disposing of non-hazardous materials as needed.
  • Properly sanitize personal protective equipment (PPE) used for inspecting products and follow company policies and procedures.
  • Participate in training activities and apply acquired skills and knowledge to the job.
  • Follow safe work practices, procedures, and policies to prevent injuries to self and others.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and the Union Labor Agreement.
  • Interact with team members and other support groups in a participative management style conducive to operational goals.
  • Conduct oneself in a professional manner, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to appearance standards.
Requirements
  • 6+ months of related experience and/or training.
  • Must have an acceptable safety record.
  • Must have an acceptable attendance record.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work day and night shifts (6am - 6pm / 6pm - 6am).
  • Must be able to read, understand, and communicate in a manner to successfully perform the job duties.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods and stand on concrete floors for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work in extreme environments, including hot or cold temperatures and wet and slick floors.
  • Must be able to lift up to 10lbs safely and properly.
  • Must be able to maneuver in close quarters and climb stairs and ladders.
