Shop Foreman - Lead Diesel Mechanic

First Student Canada-Transco is seeking a skilled Shop Foreman - Lead Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for scheduling and performing school bus fleet maintenance, diagnosing and troubleshooting complex problems, and maintaining service records.

About the Role

As a Shop Foreman - Lead Diesel Mechanic, you will:

  • Supervise technicians in the shop and ensure efficient workflow
  • Generate work orders and track progress through completion
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of all vehicle components to effectively diagnose and perform maintenance and repairs
  • Monitor shop operational performance and efficiency, taking action to improve as needed
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid driver's license and willingness to obtain a CDL while employed (we provide training)
  • At least 5 years of automotive or diesel maintenance and repair experience or technical school education
  • Previous experience in a lead technician, supervisor, or other management role is preferred
  • A mechanic's tool set and willingness to participate in ASE certification program (training, testing, and bonuses provided)
  • Subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee
