About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at The Grand Canal Retirement Residence. As a key member of our dining services team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of food and service to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods for our residents.
    • Requisition food and kitchen supplies to maintain a well-stocked kitchen.
    • Determine the size of food portions and costs to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Kitchen Operations
    • Manage kitchen operations, including inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
    • Order supplies and equipment as needed to maintain a well-equipped kitchen.
    • Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
  • Customer Service
    • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
    • Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by a dietitian or chef.
  • Work Environment
    • Work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail and ability to multitask.
    • Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Language
    • Fluency in English.
