We are seeking a highly skilled CNC (computer numerical control) machinist to join our team at LP Custom Machining Ltd. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating conventional and computer-controlled machine tools to produce high-precision parts.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong foundation in machining principles and practices, with experience working with various types of machinery and equipment. You will work closely with our experienced team to ensure that all products meet the highest standards of quality and precision.

Responsibilities
  • Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts to ensure accurate and efficient production.
  • Measure and lay out work pieces to prepare for assembly, using precision measuring instruments to verify accuracy.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables to understand product requirements.
  • Fabricate and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance, ensuring precise fit and finish.
  • Maintain, repair, and calibrate precision measuring instruments to ensure they remain accurate and functional.
  • Set up and operate both conventional and computer-controlled machine tools to produce high-quality parts.
  • Verify dimensions of products to ensure they meet specifications, using precision measuring instruments to check accuracy.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a related field, preferably with experience working with CNC machines.
  • Strong knowledge of machining principles and practices, including material properties and processing techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate and efficient production.
