About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Designer II to join our team at Electronic Arts Inc. as a key member of our Apex Legends development team. As a Quality Designer II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our feature releases, identifying project risks, and promoting software and game quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Evolve Test Strategies: Develop and refine test strategies by analyzing historical data, collaborating with test experts, and communicating with developers to ensure comprehensive and impactful test design.
  • Plan Test Execution: Work with Feature Group managers and testing teams to plan and execute test cases, ensuring that all aspects of quality are thoroughly tested.
  • Establish Milestone Acceptance Criteria: Collaborate with Feature Group managers to establish clear acceptance criteria for milestones, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned and aware of expectations.
  • Analyze Automation Opportunities: Identify opportunities for automation and work with the automation team to implement tools and platforms that meet the needs of the Foundations and Rendering team.
  • Collaborate with Development Team: Work closely with the Development team and technical directors to understand code risk and translate that risk into test coverage or automation opportunities.
  • Evolve Team Processes: Help evolve the team's processes, focusing on peer mentoring to expand the team's capabilities and responsibilities.
  • Analyze Test Results: Collect data and feedback from test results and use that data to inform meaningful conclusions and drive recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in quality assurance or applicable experience in technology fields.
  • In-depth knowledge of software/game development, including both Agile and waterfall methodologies.
  • Computer Science (CS) degree or equivalent.
  • Experience driving and contributing to discussions with senior discipline leaders.
  • Experience with Back-end development or back-end development QA.
  • Experience with test automation tools.
  • Experience working with medium-to-large-scale teams and distributed peers.
  • Experience with bug prevention and containment strategies.
  • Defect and Task tracking tool experience (JIRA, JAAS, Github).
