Job Title: Carpenter Lead Hand

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter Lead Hand to join our team at Green Island Builders. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation of wood structures, ensuring high-quality workmanship, and mentoring junior carpenters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise a team of carpenters on construction sites
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Schedule and coordinate work on sites, ensuring timely completion of projects
  • Instruct and mentor apprentices in carpentry skills
  • Supervise and monitor the work of other workers, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in carpentry or a related field
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
