Job Title: Senior Pulp and Paper Manufacturing Executive

Job Summary:

The Senior Pulp and Paper Manufacturing Executive will be responsible for overseeing the overall capital allocation of the Paper Excellence Group's Pulp related business, and approving all key investments. This role will evaluate projects and make recommendations to reduce overall project expense by utilizing alternative designs or technologies, cost competitive country procurement strategies, and cost reduction options utilizing internal designs.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and influence in shaping standards for Cap Ex optimization efforts by establishing objectives, strategies, and advocating cutting-edge technologies, fit-for-purpose designs, and low-cost sourcing.
  • Evaluate all Cap Ex proposals, validate assumptions, assess design elements, and proposed costs, and recommend opportunities to reduce overall project costs.
  • Partner with BUs in building Cap Ex investment strategies that align with overall business strategies to help the company grow, repurpose assets, find opportunities in greenfield projects, and even M&A.
  • Oversee the progress of Cap Ex projects and provide periodic reports to the Management Board and Founder.
  • Evaluate opportunities for in-house designs of non-critical components to reduce project costs.
  • Reduce Cap Ex investments by sourcing from cost-competitive countries like Japan, Brazil, and Taiwan.
  • Contribute to the development of the annual Cap Ex plan based on expertise around machinery improvements/optimizations.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the work of regions, divisions, or departments.
  • Establish objectives for the organization and formulate or approve policies and programs.
  • Ability to supervise 3-4 people.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and above in Paper Science Engineering, Mechanical, or Chemical is preferred.
  • Minimum five years of specialized knowledge of Pulp & Paper manufacturing equipment and processes is required.
  • Minimum five years of management experience in pulp and paper global technology, production, and operation.
  • An innovative and forward-thinking leader.
  • Ability to effectively lead change and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Highly motivated and result-oriented.
  • Proven track record of Cap Ex project management, turn-around, vendor management.
  • Can effectively identify and evaluate technical and non-technical opportunities for improvement and translate them to financial terms that provide a business case and support investment.
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge the status quo and improve existing processes/programs.
  • Official Languages: English.
