Accounting Supervisor Job Description

Job Title: Accounting Supervisor

Location: Oakville, in-office role

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 plus benefits and a great working environment

About the Role:

The Accounting Supervisor will play a critical role in managing the day-to-day accounting operations of the company. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this individual will oversee a team of 6 accountants, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timeliness in billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of 6 accountants, 2 in Toronto and 4 in India.
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities in accounting operations, including billing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Review financial statements and prepare regular reports.
  • Manage Bank, CRA, and Auditor relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Delegate, supervise, and participate in accounting department tasks.
  • Develop and implement department controls and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • BComm or equivalent, plus CPA, MBA or pursuing.
  • 8+ years experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience with Quickbooks and Sage 300 is preferred.
  • Strong Excel and other Microsoft applications skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills are required.
