Job Title: Quantitative Social Science and GIS

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our team as a Quantitative Social Science and GIS researcher. The successful candidate will have a strong background in geographic information science and a demonstrated ability to conduct innovative and independent research.

About the Position

The Department of Human Geography at the University of Toronto Scarborough invites applications for a full-time, tenure stream appointment in the area of Quantitative Social Science and GIS. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and will commence on July 1, 2019.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct innovative and independent research in the area of Quantitative Social Science and GIS
  • Teach core undergraduate courses in the Minor Program in Geographic Information Science
  • Engage in graduate teaching, supervision, and service in the Tri-campus Graduate Department of Geography and Planning
  • Pursue research collaborations with industry and researchers in the tech-cluster
Requirements

Applicants must have a Ph.D in Geography or a related field at the time of appointment or shortly thereafter. Candidates must also have a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching and be able to communicate effectively as an undergraduate and graduate teacher.
