Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Academic Advisor to join our team at CanNorth College of Health, Business, and Technology. As an Academic Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting students in achieving their academic and career goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Support
    • Provide academic guidance and counseling to students, helping them to navigate their academic programs and make informed decisions about their future careers.
    • Assist students in developing academic plans, setting goals, and overcoming obstacles that may be hindering their progress.
  • Program Development
    • Contribute to the development and implementation of academic programs, ensuring they are aligned with the college's mission and goals.
    • Collaborate with faculty and staff to design and deliver academic support services that meet the needs of students.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with students, faculty, and staff to ensure seamless delivery of academic support services.
    • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, employers, and other stakeholders to promote the college's programs and services.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as education, counseling, or a related field.
  • Experience
    • At least 1 year of experience in a related field, such as academic advising, counseling, or teaching.
  • Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
