About the Role
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our Inpatient Psychiatry team in Sechelt, BC. As a Social Worker with our organization, you will have the opportunity to work in a team-based environment, providing clinical and consultative social work services to clients and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct social and psychosocial assessments, provide individual, family, and group counseling services, and maintain client records.
- Attend interdisciplinary clinical/case conferences and provide Long-Term Care assessments.
- Identify applicable community resources for clients and contribute to the effectiveness and development of community resources.
Requirements
- Master of Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work and one year of post-Baccalaureate experience in a healthcare setting or one year in a practicum in a related setting.
- Current full registration with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Broad knowledge of systems thinking as it relates to social work process.
- Broad knowledge of other health disciplines and their role in healthcare.
- Broad knowledge of research methodology.
- Broad knowledge of counseling skills and clinical practice models.
- Broad knowledge of family and change therapy.
- Broad knowledge of legislation and government policies and procedures that relate to the client.
