Senior Financial Analyst – IFRS 17 Job Overview

CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst – IFRS 17 to join our team. As a Senior Financial Analyst – IFRS 17, you will be responsible for providing expert financial analysis and reporting services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and analyze financial information, including KPIs, monthly forecasts, and quarterly reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with CB Canada's Business Internal Controls over Financial Reporting and governance.
  • Implement IFRS 17 requirements and solutions in the Finance function, including financial reporting and management reporting systems.
  • Support the development of requirements and changes to processes, and engage relevant stakeholders in the readiness of the organization for IFRS 17.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple competing tasks and deliverables for the workstream/project.
Requirements:
  • Professional accountant (CPA) with expertise in IFRS, life insurance accounting, and financial control knowledge.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in financial reporting and investment accounting.
  • Minimum 4-6 years' experience in an accounting or finance related role.
Preferred Skills:
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage changes involving complex organizational structure and system changes.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Strong change management skills, able to drive the implementation of best practices and influence others to make or adjust to change.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and to prioritize work and efforts in a matrix environment.
  • Ability to identify, interpret and report on trends, analyze large data sets, and make recommendations to senior management.
