The Role

We're seeking a Commercial Insurance Advisor to join our team in Kitchener, working in our Western Ontario region on a permanent full-time basis. As part of our employee promise, you'll enjoy a range of benefits, including:

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Service Independent Business Unit accounts
  • Contribute to new business growth by selling new policies, writing new business to existing or new clients, quoting policies, reviewing renewals, and achieving growth targets
  • Quote new business through referrals, cold calls, and introductory levels, as well as through walk-in clients
  • Provide customers with prompt service by offering advice, helping customers understand insurance, discussing customer concerns
  • Review and provide processing instructions on all incoming commercial paperwork
  • Prepare documentation for insurers, complete applications for new clients, issue insurance certificates
  • Review and provide processing instructions on endorsements, and follow up on payments
  • Communicate with insurance companies, negotiate with underwriters on customers' behalf, negotiate renewal of terms, follow up with adjusters on claims status
  • Source and obtain additional information requested by the underwriter and complete applications

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • High School Diploma and/or Post-Secondary Education
  • Two or more years of customer service experience
  • Sales experience in any other industry is an asset
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in the insurance industry is an asset
  • RIBO Insurance License is preferred or must obtain upon hire
  • Exposure to EPIC is an asset
  • Proficient in MS Office – Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Excellent customer service skills and adept in conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities successfully
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
