About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join our team at CANADA CORP. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.

Job Summary

This is a permanent position with a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities
  • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll: Accurately calculate and process payrolls, including all relevant taxes and deductions.
  • Calculate fixed assets and depreciation: Determine the value of fixed assets and apply depreciation correctly to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Keep financial records and establish, maintain and balance various accounts using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledgers and financial statements.
  • Maintain general ledgers and financial statements: Ensure that all financial records are accurate and complete, and that financial statements are prepared and presented in a timely manner.
  • Post journal entries: Record and post journal entries accurately and efficiently, ensuring that all financial transactions are properly documented.
  • Prepare other statistical, financial and accounting reports: Prepare regular financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Prepare tax returns: Prepare and submit tax returns accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations.
  • Prepare trial balance of books: Prepare a trial balance of books to ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and balanced.
  • Reconcile accounts: Reconcile all financial accounts, including bank statements and credit card statements, to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Secondary (high) school graduation certificate: A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience: At least 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
