Art Therapist Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Art Therapist to join our team at the Red Fish Healing Centre in Coquitlam, BC. As an Art Therapist, you will work with clients who have complex mental health and substance use challenges, providing art therapy services to promote physical, psycho-social, cognitive, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement art therapy programs for clients, assessing their needs and goals, and evaluating the effectiveness of the programs.
  • Provide art therapy services, using a wide range of art materials to promote client well-being, and encourage clients to express themselves in a non-verbal way.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, exchanging information and discussing client care plans to ensure optimum patient outcomes.
  • Facilitate one-on-one and group programs, using creative arts to assist clients with self-expression, coping skills, stress management, and personal growth.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness, using client feedback and observation data to inform program development and improvement.
Requirements:
  • Master of Arts Degree in Art Therapy from an accredited University.
  • Two years recent, related experience providing art therapy services, coaching, and group facilitation to individuals with mental illness or substance abuse issues.
  • Eligibility for Registration with the British Columbia Art Therapy Association (BCATA).
