Job Title: Chief Information Officer - Assistant Deputy Minister

BC Liquor Distribution Branch (Burnaby) is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Information Officer - Assistant Deputy Minister to lead the organization's IT vision and direction.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing IT strategies that align with the corporate strategic plan, leading the planning and implementation of corporate and departmental IT strategy and plans, and providing vision and direction to LDB executive and senior management staff relating to corporate and organization-wide IT issues, objectives, policies, and procedures.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT leadership, with a minimum of 10 years of progressive management experience in an IT environment, and a proven track record of leading large-scale projects and developing strategic plans and budgets.

The successful candidate will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to consult with and guide executives to implement corporate initiatives and champion innovation and progressive change within the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the corporate strategic plan
  • Lead the planning and implementation of corporate and departmental IT strategy and plans
  • Provide vision and direction to LDB executive and senior management staff relating to corporate and organization-wide IT issues, objectives, policies, and procedures
  • Develop and administer an annual capital budget for IT projects
  • Oversee the negotiation and administration of license agreements for all technologies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or business management
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive management experience in an IT environment
  • Strong background in IT leadership and project management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to consult with and guide executives to implement corporate initiatives
