Role Summary

The Line/Prep Cook reports directly to the Head Chef and Sous Chef. This role involves cooking and preparing a variety of food products, including meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, sauces, stock, breads, and other food products, using a range of equipment and utensils according to kitchen protocol and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare meals in a timely manner, adhering to Dominion's recipes and assembly manuals and charts.
  • Develop and follow a daily prep sheet to indicate levels on hand and amounts required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen at all times, adhering to required checklists and cleaning schedules during and following shifts.
  • Ensure the proper care and maintenance of all food service equipment, identifying equipment needs for food preparation and service.
  • Maintain high levels of cleanliness, organization, storage, and sanitation of food products to ensure food quality.
  • Maintain a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the restaurant.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and directed by Head Chef and Sous Chef.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Level 1 Foodsafe certification
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen
  • Eligibility to work in Canada
