Digital Engineering Manager

AtkinsRéalis is a leading engineering company providing services to the nuclear industry in Canada and globally. As a Digital Engineering Manager, you will lead the Digital Solutions department and drive digital development activities for the Canadian nuclear business.

The successful candidate will manage the digital development process, from concept to production, and collaborate with the Director, Digital Innovation & Solutions, to shape the digital strategy and roadmap for digital transformation.

The Digital Engineering Manager will empower the digital technical team to innovate and develop the latest digital solutions to address client challenges. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering design processes, software development, and digital technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Functional management of the department, including assignment of work, monitoring and managing individual performance, training and development, and hiring of new staff.
  • Effective interface with the broader management team and external clients.
  • Preparation and management of department budgets, objectives, and resources.
  • Ownership and implementation of departmental action plans.
  • Implementation of strategic initiatives to improve business unit and/or department performance.
  • Leadership of innovation and use of digital technologies to improve work processes and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an Honours degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar program.
  • 10 years of relevant combined technical and management experience in an engineering environment.
  • 3-5 years of Project Management experience.
  • Proficient with engineering design processes, including requirements gathering, conceptual and detail design, documentation, design validation, and testing.
  • Experience with software development processes in highly regulated industries such as nuclear, aerospace, healthcare, etc.
  • Experience in technology areas such as Data Science / Advanced Analytics / Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
  • Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team in a collaborative environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
