Job Summary

Hatch is seeking a skilled Structural CAD Designer to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for producing high-quality 3D models and 2D drawings in accordance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Structural CAD Designer with project delivery, ensuring scope, quantities, cost, and schedule are met.
  • Prepare contract drawings, maintain records, and perform statistical work.
  • Produce and maintain technical and engineering drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software.
  • Perform conceptual layout work, develop design details, and check drawings prior to release.
  • Ensure coordination with designers, drafters, and engineers within the discipline and with other disciplines.
  • Participate in formal engineering review processes and verify onsite conditions and dimensions.
  • Provide technical support to clients and junior designer/drafters.
  • Delegate duties to junior designer/drafters as needed and follow up to ensure completion meets quality and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct field investigations and produce clear field reports with detailed sketches as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Civil/Structural College Advanced Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of five years of structural CAD design/drafting experience.
  • Proficient in 2D and 3D structural CAD design/drawing software packages, including AutoCAD, Revit, and Civil 3D.
  • Experience in a large project, multi-disciplinary EPCM environment.
  • Knowledge of industry or regulatory standards, regulations, and codes pertinent to structural design in Ontario.
  • Skilled at developing detailed design elements using information from various sources.
