Job Overview

Hatch is seeking a talented New Grad Structural CAD Designer to join our team. As a Structural CAD Designer, you will be responsible for producing structural 3D models and 2D drawings in accordance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Structural Designer with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, quantities, cost, and schedule.
  • Produce and maintain technical and engineering drawings using 2D and 3D CAD software as required.
  • Perform conceptual layout work, develop design details, and check drawings prior to release.
  • Ensure coordination with designers and engineers within the discipline and with other disciplines.
  • Perform clash detection of models with other discipline models and participate in formal engineering review processes.
  • Verify onsite condition and dimensions relating to existing facilities and incorporate safety in design.

Requirements

  • Technical school diploma specializing in civil/structural design.
  • Experience within a large project, multi-disciplinary EPCM environment.
  • Proficient in the use of 2D and 3D structural design/drawing software packages, including Revit, AutoCAD, or Bentley MicroStation software.
  • Knowledge of industry or regulatory standards, regulations, and codes pertinent to structural design in Ontario.
  • Understanding of other discipline requirements.
