Job Title: Standardized Patient

**Job Summary:**

The Volunteer Coordinators' Association of Sarnia-Lambton is seeking highly motivated and professional individuals to participate in our Standardized Patient Program. As a Standardized Patient, you will play a crucial role in providing students with hands-on learning experiences in a controlled, simulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Simulate Real-Life Scenarios: Work with students to simulate real-life healthcare scenarios, providing accurate and consistent responses to their questions and interactions.
  • Develop and Refine Skills: Help students develop and refine their communication, interview, diagnostic, and clinical skills in a safe and controlled environment.
  • Provide Feedback: Offer constructive feedback to students on their performance, using the CORBS method to ensure they understand their strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Faculty and Students: Work closely with faculty and students to ensure a smooth and effective learning experience.
  • Meet Commitment Requirements: Commit to a minimum of 60 hours of participation, working a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of students and faculty.

Requirements:

  • Age Requirement: Must be at least 14 years old.
  • Skills and Abilities: Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work patiently and professionally with students, and be reliable and punctual.
  • Availability: Available to work during weekdays, with a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of students and faculty.
