Painter Technician

Job Summary

Propak Systems Ltd. is seeking a skilled Painter Technician to join our Fabrication Shops in Airdrie, AB.

Key Responsibilities:

• Estimate material quantities by measuring surfaces or reviewing work orders.
• Select appropriate paint or mix according to a pre-determined formula.
• Tend to or operate equipment to clean, wash, strip, sand, remove corrosion, fill dents, or prepare items for paint application.
• Operate automated spray paint, dip, or flow coating equipment or mechanized painting application equipment.
• Prepare surfaces for paint application, including sandblasting and wrapping.
• Apply touch-ups using paint brushes.
• Clean and maintain painting and coating equipment, ventilation, compressed air, and personal protective equipment.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid recognized Alberta Journeyperson Trade Certificate or a recognized trade certificate or equivalency document.
• Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate is preferred.
• 1-2 years of directly related work experience.
• As a condition of employment, employees must sign a Drug-Free Workplace Agreement, Conflict of Interest Agreement, and Confidentiality and Invention Agreement.
• This position may require directing, coaching, and mentoring apprentices.
