Job Title: Director of Project Management

Unitech Construction Management Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Project Management to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of selected construction projects from pre-construction to post-construction phases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to project managers, ensuring their ongoing professional development and effective performance management.
  • Coordinate and lead performance management activities, including quarterly conversations and weekly or bi-weekly check-ins.
  • Actively participate in and lead project management level 10 meetings.
  • Manage direct reports' time-off requests and assist with the development and adoption of project charters.
  • Assist with project risk identification, evaluation, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide constructability input to optimize design and detailing during each design stage.
  • Produce initial project schedules and assist with updates, modifications, and maintenance.
  • Review front-end tender documentation and scope of work packages to ensure clarity and concision.
  • Be a resource for direct reports' project management responsibilities and attend project start-up meetings.
Requirements:
  • At least two years of experience at the senior management level.
  • At least ten years of construction management experience, preferably in a similar role.
  • Post-secondary graduation from a management or construction program or equivalent relevant combination of training and work experience.
  • Good working knowledge of current construction methods, materials, procedures, drawings, specifications, and building codes.
  • Exemplary English skills, both verbal and written, with strong analytical, mathematical, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other construction applications.
  • Self-motivated, creative thinking, organized, succinct, and efficient.
  • Above-average relationship building, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, leadership, and team building skills.
