Job Description

As a Freight Transport Driver with Amberhill Freight Inc., you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials across various routes. Your duties will include operating and driving straight or articulated trucks, loading and unloading goods, and overseeing the condition of the vehicle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and adjust routes based on changing conditions to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
  • Coach colleagues on new methods and work techniques
  • Provide professional customer service
  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy
  • Load and unload goods
  • Obtain special permits and documents required for international routes
  • Operate and drive trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
  • Pay and receive payments for goods
  • Perform brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
  • Perform preventive maintenance
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
Requirements
  • AZ class license
  • Air Brakes Endorsement
  • Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi-trailer trucks)
