About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Internal Medicine Specialist to join our team at the Eastern Regional Health Authority. As an Internal Medicine Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Education and Experience: A degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or optometry is required. Experience in a hospital setting is an asset.
  • Work Setting: This is a staff position in a hospital setting, with the possibility of relocation to a rural area.
  • Tasks: As an Internal Medicine Specialist, you will act as a consultant to other physicians, order laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures, and provide expert care to patients.
  • Certifications and Licenses: You must hold specialty residency training and licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
  • Specialization: You will specialize in clinical medicine, with a focus on internal medicine.
  • Security and Safety: You must undergo a criminal record check, be bondable, and have immunization records. You must also be eligible for professional liability insurance and have basic security clearance.
  • Personal Suitability: You must possess excellent oral and written communication skills, be accurate, client-focused, dependable, efficient, and flexible. You must also have initiative, interpersonal awareness, judgement, and reliability.
