Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced painter to join our team at the Portage la Prairie School Division. As a Journeyman Painter, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality finishes on our school facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply paint and other finishes to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces to achieve a high-quality finish.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and other documents to understand the scope of work.
  • Develop and implement a plan to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople and school staff to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Requirements:

  • Journeyman Certification in Manitoba.
  • Minimum of three (3) years successful experience as a painter.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and work independently.
  • Grade 12 standing or equivalent.
  • Physically and medically fit to perform assigned duties.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
