Job Summary:
Brightshores is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in a Critical Care and Emergency Department setting. As a Critical Care Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, and develop and implement plans to meet those needs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and monitor patients' responses to treatment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical practices and research through ongoing education and professional development.
Requirements:
- Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses.
- Current BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications, or willingness to obtain within the specified timeframe.
- Recent Critical Care experience within the last 5 years.
- Recent Emergency Room experience within the last 5 years.
- Post Anesthesia Course or willingness to obtain within one year of hire.
- Critical Care Certificate (CNA or College approved) or willingness to obtain within two years of hire.
- Excellent assessment and interviewing skills.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and collaboration skills.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and continuing education.
- Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records.
- Adherence to Brightshores' CARE Behaviours and LEAD Competencies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coronary Care Certificate.
- Community College Diploma in Emergency Nursing or ENC Certification.
