About the Role

MNP is seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team. As a trusted advisor, you will design customized tax strategies for clients, ensuring compliance and reporting requirements are met while minimizing risk and maximizing returns.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Lead multiple client-facing engagement teams responsible for tax engagements
  2. Deliver industry and technical expertise through client interactions, reports, and high-quality deliverables
  3. Evaluate business processes and advise on policy and tax changes, developing proactive tax strategies
  4. Liaise with Canada Revenue Agency and provincial ministries on client issues
  5. Prepare election forms for corporate reorganizations
  6. Assist in managing personal and trust tax compliance seasons
  7. Manage a portfolio of clients, understanding their business, key risks, and ways to deliver added value
  8. Accountable for engagement planning, scheduling, and project financials
  9. Maintain high-quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate and address issues
  10. Network in the local business community and contribute to proposal development
  11. Contribute to process improvements and mentor team members

Requirements

  1. CPA designation
  2. Completion of Level 1 of In-depth Tax Program and other specialist development courses
  3. 4 to 5 years of relevant public accounting or tax consulting experience
  4. Extensive working knowledge of Canadian Tax
  5. Strong understanding of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles
  6. Proven people management, relationship building, and leadership skills
