Are you a highly motivated individual with excellent leadership skills, looking to make a difference in the City of Dryden? We are seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) professional to join our team

About the Role

This permanent position will see you working as part of our Municipal Government team, responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. You will be the go-to person for all EHS-related matters, providing guidance and support to managers and staff alike.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing health and safety plans, policies, and procedures;
  • Conducting workplace inspections and investigations into accidents or illnesses;
  • Providing training and development programs for staff on EHS topics;
  • Liaising with management, union officials, and HR consultants to ensure compliance with regulations;
  • Preparing reports and analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement;

You will be working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, so excellent time management and organizational skills are essential. A strong attention to detail is also required, as you will be responsible for reviewing and approving various documents and reports.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • A degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field;
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in EHS, preferably in a municipal government setting;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;

You must have a strong understanding of EHS regulations and be able to interpret and apply them in a practical setting. Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing successful EHS initiatives, and be passionate about promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
