Respite Worker

At CB Canada, we are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Respite Worker to join our team. As a Respite Worker, you will play a vital role in providing quality care and support to children and youth with developmental disabilities and complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with children, youth, and their families to provide respite, behavior management, and skill development services.
  • Implement behavior support plans and ABA programming to reduce risk behavior and support skill development.
  • Work in various settings, including center-based clinics, family homes, and community settings.
  • Engage children and youth in fun and exciting activities, and support them to participate in community events.
  • Collect data and use Microsoft Excel to track progress.
  • Support children and youth in crisis situations, using non-violent crisis intervention strategies.
  • Participate in supervision meetings to share ideas and recommendations for supporting children and youth.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including documentation and resource development.
Requirements:
  • College diploma in Psychology, Autism and Behavioral Science, Developmental Services, or a related field.
  • Experience working with children and youth with developmental disabilities, autism, or complex behavioral and mental health needs.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Bilingual in French is an asset.
  • Strong attendance record.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training (will train).
  • First Aid (will train).
