Your Role

As a Technician Automation, you will report to the Manager, Operations and Maintenance, Hydro and be responsible for carrying out electrical maintenance projects on various Innergex hydroelectric sites in collaboration with supervisors and plant managers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues on PLCS, HMI, and programming software such as Control Expert and Wonderware.
  • Monitor performance indicators and detect anomalies.
  • Recognize and solve problems with various electrical equipment, including auxiliary equipment, alternators, transformers, disconnectors, and controls.
  • Reduce the probability of failure or degradation of equipment operation.
  • Perform and/or supervise various types of tests or repair work on power equipment in our facilities.
  • Plan corrective work and perform preventive maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Ensure on-site interventions are in line with production optimization.
  • Accompany and guide suppliers on site.
  • Follow up and manage projects.
  • Supervise pre-operational verifications and commissioning of new electrical equipment.
  • Write verification, anomaly, and follow-up reports.
  • Respect safety requirements and rules.
  • Be available to be on call.
Requirements
  • DEC in electrodynamics, electrical engineering, industrial electronics, or equivalent.
  • Carte électricien hors construction is an asset.
  • Formation in cadenassage, dangers d'éclair d'arc, and code des travaux Hydro-Québec is an asset.
  • Knowledge of electrical tests on power equipment, including disjoncteurs, transformateurs, sectionneurs, alternateurs, etc., and on testing equipment, such as Doble, TTR, Megger, etc., is an asset.
  • Master the Office suite (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of Schneider, Basler, SEL, GE, and AutoCAD is an asset.
  • Knowledge and respect of health, safety, and environmental requirements in the execution of work.
  • Bilingualism (French and English, functional, both orally and in writing) is required to ensure collaboration with various stakeholders outside of Quebec.
Additional Considerations
  • The position is available anywhere in the Quebec City/Levis area.
  • Flexible and available to travel in Quebec, Ontario, and the United States (approximately 40-50% of the time). Trips can be from 2 to 10 consecutive days, depending on needs.
  • Must have a valid unrestricted class 5 driver's license and a passport.
