About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Juniper House. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and services to individuals in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative and Office Activities
    • Manage and maintain accurate records and files
    • Perform administrative tasks, such as data entry and correspondence
  • Client Support and Services
    • Assess clients' needs and provide support and guidance
    • Develop and implement individualized plans to meet clients' needs
    • Provide life skills workshops and training
  • Community Outreach and Partnerships
    • Establish and maintain relationships with community partners and agencies
    • Collaborate with other organizations to provide comprehensive services
  • Housekeeping and Maintenance
    • Perform housekeeping and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and healthy environment
  • Counselling and Support
    • Provide individual and group counselling sessions
    • Offer emotional support and guidance to clients
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports
Requirements
  • Education
    • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Experience
    • Previous experience in a related field is an asset
  • Certifications and Training
    • Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
    • Mental health first aid Certificate
    • Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate
    • First Aid Certificate
    • CPR Certificate
  • Personal Qualities
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
