Apprentice Roofer

Flynn Canada Ltd. is seeking a skilled Apprentice Roofer to join our team. As an Apprentice Roofer, you will assist experienced roofers in installing and repairing various types of roofing systems, including built-up roofing, single-ply roofing, and metal roofing.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the installation of built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel.
- Help install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes, and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings.
- Assist in the installation of single-ply roofing systems using waterproof sheet materials, such as modified plastics, elastomeric, or other asphaltic compositions.
- Support in repairing or replacing single-ply roofing systems.
- Assist in instructing apprentices.
- Help install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools.
As an Apprentice Roofer, you will work in a fast-paced environment with physically demanding tasks. You will be required to work at heights, in noisy conditions, and outdoors. You will also be handling heavy loads and working in a variety of locations, including commercial and industrial settings.
Requirements- No degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience is preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
- Dependability, reliability, and teamwork skills are required.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle a large workload is necessary.
- Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) is required.
- Dental plan is available.
- Financial benefits are as per collective agreement.
- Permanent employment with 30 to 40 hours per week.
- Language of work: English or French.
