We are seeking a skilled Construction Specialist to join our team at Carpet Plus Flooring. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful completion of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Load, Unload, and Transport Materials: Safely load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from job sites.
- Perform Pre-Operational Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-operational inspections to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
- Read Blueprints: Read and interpret blueprints to determine work requirements and ensure projects are completed accurately.
- Erect and Dismantle Forms and Scaffolding: Safely erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades as required.
- Instruct Apprentices: Provide guidance and instruction to apprentices to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
- Mix, Pour, and Spread Materials: Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt as required.
- Clean and Pile Salvaged Materials: Clean and pile salvaged materials for reuse or disposal.
- Perform Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
- Clean Up Chemical Spills: Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
As a Construction Specialist, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on safety and quality. You will be required to work outdoors and in confined spaces, and may be exposed to noisy and dusty conditions.
Requirements- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: Experience an asset.
- Work Setting: Construction site.
- Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, manual dexterity, and attention to detail required.
- Language: English.
