About the Role


We are currently seeking an Environmental Safety Specialist to join our Environment, Health, and Safety team for the Alstom Go Expansion project. This position is based in Toronto, with a requirement for schedule flexibility and occasional travel between sites.



Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with EHS rules on construction sites for both Alstom employees and contractors
  • Conduct due diligence, inspections, installation, testing, and commissioning of equipment and trains
  • Work closely with the EHS Project Manager, site team supervisors, contractors, and constructors
  • Coordinate safety communications, trainings, and initiatives
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, observations, and performance metrics


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field (preferred)
  • 3-5 years of experience in Environment, Health & Safety, preferably on construction sites
  • Excellent knowledge of OSHA regulations, ISO14001, and ISO45001 standards
  • Familiarity with computer systems, including Office, Sharepoint, and Aconex (asset)
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel between sites
  • Strong analytical skills, initiative, and problem-solving ability
  • Good written English communication skills
