Job Title: Director of Software Engineering

At Kount, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Software Engineering to lead our cloud-based consumer credit risk product development team. As a key member of our technology leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of our cloud transformation initiatives and ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive engineering strategy to drive cloud transformation initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including product, data, operations, and sales partners.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to build best-in-class applications and software delivery projects.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop junior and senior software, quality, and reliability engineers.
  • Collaborate with architects, SRE leads, and other technical leadership on strategic technical direction, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain a long-term technical vision and roadmap within and beyond the scope of your teams.
  • Ensure compliance with EFX secure software development guidelines and best practices, and be responsible for meeting and maintaining QE, DevSec, and FinOps KPIs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or a minimum of fifteen (15) years of equivalent experience in software engineering.
  • Expertise in cloud service providers, such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft Azure.
  • Strong software engineering and delivery skillset, including effort estimation, resource planning, and delivery planning.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial optimization.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go.
  • Understanding of modern software development practices, including Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps principles.
  • Experience with cloud-based data storage solutions and familiarity with big data technologies and data processing frameworks.
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, compliance requirements, and handling of sensitive data (PII, PHI).
  • Skills in monitoring and optimizing the performance of cloud applications and services.
  • Experience with collaboration and version control tools, such as Git, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, including experience managing over one hundred (100) resources, including offshore teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Cloud Certifications from Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Microsoft.
  • MBA degree or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Strong ability to build alliances with other departments and business units/centers of excellence.
  • Comprehension of cloud networking concepts, including virtual private clouds (VPCs), subnets, firewalls, and load balancers.
