Job Summary

As an Accounting Manager at Accor Hotel, you will play a key role in maintaining our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and excellence in all aspects of accounting.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage a system of accounts and controls to provide accurate data for all required accounting reports and statements.
  • Prepare month-end journal entries, ensuring efficient completion of all month-end functions.
  • Assist in the preparation of month-end balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis.
  • Assist in the completion of financial statements, management reports, in accordance with Corporate Policies & Procedures for review.
  • Coordinate and ensure that all daily, weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly management reports are issued on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Participate in the creation of the Annual Operating & Capital Budgets, Strategic Plan, and Monthly Operating Forecasts.
  • Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits.
  • Assist in the implementation and completion of special projects as assigned by the DOF/ADOF.
  • Assist in the effective utilization and integration of hotel and accounting technology systems, including software applications, current and future.
  • Develop an engaged, enthusiastic, and guest-focused department.
  • Recruit, develop, evaluate, and motivate the team.
  • Represent the Accounting office and the ADOF/DOF in their absence.
  • Actively contribute to departmental leadership and direction.
  • Participate in the hotel emergency plan and crisis procedures, ensuring that they are kept up to date.
  • Adhere to and promote all Company Health & Safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous professional designation or acceptable university degree with an appropriate specialization in Accounting or enrolled in a recognized accounting program with progression to 3rd or 4th level preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience and at least 2 years previous accounting experience at a supervisory/managerial level.
  • Proven leadership and coaching skills with a track record of developing a highly motivated and cross-trained group of progressive accounting professionals.
  • Familiarity with hotel operating systems and software, including Sun Systems, Hyperion, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Silverware, Birchstreet, Watson Day Force Opera PMS, Excels.
  • Exceptional administrative, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Highly responsible and reliable with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
