Accounting Manager Job Description
At Accor Hotel, we are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. As an Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining a system of accounts and controls, providing accurate data necessary for all required accounting reports and statements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Director of Finance & Business Support, you will maintain a system of accounts and controls, providing accurate data necessary for all required accounting reports and statements.
- Prepare month-end journal entries, ensuring efficient completion of all month-end functions.
- Assist in the preparation of month-end balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis.
- Assist in the completion of financial statements, management reports in accordance with Corporate Policies & Procedures for review.
- Coordinate and ensure that all daily, weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly management reports are issued on a timely and accurate basis.
- Participate in the creation of the Annual Operating & Capital Budgets, Strategic Plan, and Monthly Operating Forecasts.
- Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits.
- Assist in the implementation and completion of special projects as assigned by the DOF/ADOF.
- Assist in the effective utilization and integration of hotel and accounting technology systems, including software applications, current and future.
- Assist in the development of Operational Leaders in the interpretation, orientation, training, and analysis of financial procedures and decision-making.
- Develop an engaged, enthusiastic, and guest-focused department.
- Recruit, develop, evaluate, and motivate the team.
- Represent the Accounting office and the ADOF/DOF in their absence.
- Actively contribute to departmental leadership and direction.
- Participate in the hotel emergency plan and crisis procedures, ensuring that they are kept up to date.
- Adhere to and promote all Company Health & Safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
- Follow all safety policies.

Qualifications:
- Previous professional designation or acceptable university degree with an appropriate specialization in Accounting or enrolled in a recognized accounting program with progression to 3rd or 4th level preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience and at least 2 years previous accounting experience at a supervisory/managerial level.
- Proven leadership and coaching skills with a track record of developing a highly motivated and cross-trained group of progressive accounting professionals.
- Familiarity with hotel operating systems and software, including Sun Systems, Hyperion, Microsoft Office (especially Excel), Silverware, Birchstreet, Watson, Day Force, Opera PMS, and Excels.
- Exceptional administrative, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly responsible and reliable with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Aspects of Position:
- Seated computer work, including constant use of keyboard and mouse.
- Occasional lifting up to 25lbs.
