Physiotherapy Assistant Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Physiotherapy Assistant to join our team at Arvan Rehab Group in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Job Summary

As a Physiotherapy Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a Physiotherapist to provide high-quality care to residents in a Long Term Care setting. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with conducting group exercises, leading one-on-one exercises, and documenting treatments and progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with conducting group exercises for residents and lead one-on-one exercises as directed by the Physiotherapist.
  • Encourage residents to reach their treatment program goals.
  • Document treatments and residents' progress after each therapy session.
  • Assist residents with walking, sitting, and safe transferring.
  • Monitor changes to a resident's health status and report to the Physiotherapist or supervisor.
  • Perform treatments such as applying ice packs, hot packs, ultrasound therapy, and electrotherapy.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a Physiotherapy Assistant program or equivalent.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills to work effectively with the elderly, supervisors, and teammates.
  • Experience working in a Long Term Care or Retirement home is an asset.
  • Current police check for the Vulnerable Sector is required.
  • Valid 2 STEP TB Test and/or Chest X-Ray is required.
  • Access to a reliable vehicle is an asset.
  • Must be a resident of Thunder Bay and/or surrounding area.
