About This Role

Your Challenges

  • Develop and execute test plans for avionics software applications, including the mission computer, armament computer, and communication control unit.
  • Collaborate with operational specialists to optimize the operational effectiveness of the CF-18 fighter jet.
  • Work on innovative projects to improve performance indicators of missile and GPS-guided bombs, develop GPS navigation, and integrate new infrared detectors and MIDS data transmission systems.
  • Support the Canadian Armed Forces during flight exercises and work with a multidisciplinary team to achieve project goals.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of aeronautics, avionics, and testing procedures to ensure the highest quality of software development.

Your Strengths

  • Bachelor of engineering degree.
  • 0-2 years of professional experience in software development and testing.
  • Proficiency in C, C++, or C# programming languages.
  • Knowledge of aeronautics and avionics systems, testing procedures, and Integrated Test Facilities or simulators.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate technical information in English and French.

Operational Requirements

  • Meet the requirements of the Canada Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR requirements.
  • Obtain and maintain government of Canada's "Reliability" status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.
  • Have a car to commute to the main work location, which is not accessible via public transportation.
