**Job Title:** Database Systems Architect and Engineering Lead

 

We are seeking an experienced Database Systems Architect and Engineering Lead to join our team at Huawei.

 

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of a cutting-edge, cloud-native database system. This will involve architecting a system that can handle diverse workloads, including OLTP, OLAP, HTAP, large-scale OLAP, and AI-native workloads such as LLMs and vector retrieval.

In addition, you will ensure the system's capability to handle AI jobs and provide flexible scalability. You will also develop an infrastructure that allows for the seamless integration of different databases and oversee the foundational architecture for upper data processing.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives and provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of a cloud-native database system.
  • Architect a system that can handle diverse workloads.
  • Ensure the system's capability to handle AI jobs and provide flexible scalability.
  • Develop an infrastructure that integrates different databases.
  • Oversee the foundational architecture for upper data processing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship.

 

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a minimum of 10 years of experience in database development and architecture, with proven experience in leading large-scale database projects in well-known companies.

You should be proficient in C++, Linux, parallel computing, MySQL, PostgreSQL, AI, and distributed systems and have a strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and database systems.

A demonstrated ability to design systems that handle multiple workloads efficiently is essential, as is excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.

You should also have strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team.

About You:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in database development and architecture.
  • Proven experience in leading large-scale database projects.
  • Proficiency in C++, Linux, parallel computing, MySQL, PostgreSQL, AI, and distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and database systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to design systems that handle multiple workloads efficiently.
