Service Porter/Parts Driver Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Service Porter/Parts Driver to join our team at Zanchin Automotive Group. As a Service Porter/Parts Driver, you will be responsible for performing a variety of activities in support of keeping our dealership facilities orderly and delivering parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and welcome customers upon arrival to the dealership; direct customers to parking and dealership facility, and/or offer valet parking
  • Tag customer vehicles upon arrival to the dealership; apply seat and steering wheel covers
  • Maintain company parking lots; move parked vehicles to ensure ample parking is available for customers; rearrange vehicles as needed to maximize space and parking availability
  • Ensure that the service drive-thru remains uncongested and vehicles are flowing through orderly and timely
  • Wash vehicle exterior in preparation for customer delivery
  • Prepare parts orders for shipment and delivery; retrieve parts from stock in response to purchase orders
  • Load and unload parts and equipment
  • Transport and deliver parts to customers
  • Actively participate in parts receiving, offloading and stocking

Requirements:

  • 1 to 2 years of proven experience as a vehicle jockey
  • 1 to 3 years proven experience as a delivery driver
  • Secondary School diploma, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission vehicles
  • Driver's License and Clean Drivers Abstract
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate professionally (verbally and written)
  • Strong attention to detail, organized and strategic
  • Ability to maintain professionalism
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
  • Self-motivated and driven with a passion for excellence in execution
  • A desire to work in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
  • A proven commitment to quality of work
