Job Title: Woodworking Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Woodworking Specialist to join our team at Unique Millwork Inc. in a permanent position.

Salary:

The estimated annual salary for this role is $65,000 - $85,000 based on industry standards and the location of our company.

Job Description:About the Role:

In this key position, you will be responsible for operating various woodworking machines to cut, shape, and form parts and components. You will also prepare specifications for custom-made cabinets to maximize storage, and shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces using hand tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate power saws, jointers, mortisers, and shapers to cut, shape, and form parts and components
  • Prepare specifications for custom-made cabinets to maximize storage
  • Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces using hand tools such as planes, chisels, or wood files
  • Study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made
  • Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete units and reinforce joints
  • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products
  • Apply varnish, veneer, stain, or polish to finished products
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in woodworking or a related field
  • Strong understanding of woodworking techniques and materials
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
