About the Role:

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Clinical Health Services Manager to lead our Emergency Response Services (ERS) team.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong clinical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced levels of care to patients in both pre-hospital and inter-facility transport roles.

As a Senior Clinical Health Services Manager, you will play a key role as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team and be dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality health care services.

You will be responsible for providing accessible, responsive, and integrated patient care at all times, collaborating with health care providers, allied emergency service agencies, and other community agencies.

The role involves front-line clinical leadership, mentorship, education, evaluation, and involvement in ERS initiatives, as well as monitoring ERS system capacity, performing day-to-day administration, and leading specialized incident response.

You will exercise the appropriate level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed, and action to be taken.

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority offers a competitive salary range of $33.718 to $52.934 per hour, depending on experience.

About Shared Health:

Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba.

The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide advanced levels of care to patients in both pre-hospital and inter-facility transport roles.
  • Lead the Emergency Response Services (ERS) team and make key decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborate with health care providers, allied emergency service agencies, and other community agencies to provide integrated patient care.
  • Develop and implement ERS initiatives, monitor system capacity, and perform day-to-day administration.
  • Lead specialized incident response and exercise initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities and action to be taken.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of experience practicing at the Primary Care Paramedic and/or Intermediate Care Paramedic level.
  • 3 years of progressive experience in a clinical health-care setting, including 3 years of demonstrated experience in providing guidance and mentorship to colleagues.
  • 2 years of experience in clinical planning, development, and evaluation, and managing patient care services within diverse program settings.
  • 2 years of experience implementing education programs and research processes.
  • Advanced Care Paramedic Certification from an accredited Canadian education institution, or College of Paramedics of Manitoba approved equivalent.
  • Certificate of Practice with the College of Paramedics of Manitoba - Member in good standing, at minimum at the Primary Care Paramedic level.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), level C or equivalent, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), and/or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) from an accredited training provider.
  • Demonstrated mid-level leadership capabilities, competence in an Indigenous language, and/or knowledge of Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
