We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at School District #23 (Central Okanagan). As a key member of our Operations Department, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our schools and facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and healthy environment for students and staff.
- Operate and maintain various equipment and machinery, including cleaning solutions and supplies.
- Assist with the upkeep and repair of school facilities, including furniture and fixtures.
- Work collaboratively with school-based staff to ensure a smooth and efficient operation.
- Participate in the development and implementation of cleaning schedules and protocols.
- Grade 10 education or equivalent.
- Completion of the Building Service Worker (BSW) course or a comparable course/training.
- At least two years of experience in custodial services or a related field.
- Excellent physical condition and ability to lift heavy objects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A competitive hourly wage of $26.74 per hour.
- 5% of bi-weekly earnings in lieu of vacation.
- 4.6% of straight time earnings in each pay period in lieu of statutory holidays.
- 10% in lieu of benefits when working 20 hours or more per week.
