About the Role
Bethany Care Society is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents. You will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and providing interventions to enhance the physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents' physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the unique needs and goals of each resident.
- Provide interventions and therapies to enhance residents' physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being, including adaptive equipment and occupational therapy programs.
- Liaise with the interdisciplinary team to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
- Supervise and mentor Occupational Therapy Assistants to ensure high-quality care and service delivery.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
- Previous experience in geriatric care and dementia care is preferred.
- Active registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT) is required.
- Membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) and the Society of Alberta Occupational Therapists (SAOT) is preferred.
- Excellent observational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work effectively in a physically and mentally demanding environment.
