We are seeking a skilled Financial Accountant to join our team at Peel Mutual Insurance Company. As a Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records.

About the Role

This is a permanent position that requires 35 hours of work per week. You will be responsible for calculating and preparing cheques for payroll, fixed assets, and depreciation. Additionally, you will maintain general ledgers and financial statements, post journal entries, and prepare other statistical, financial, and accounting reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Calculate and Prepare Cheques: You will calculate and prepare cheques for payroll, ensuring timely payments to employees.
  • Maintain General Ledgers and Financial Statements: You will maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledgers and financial statements, providing insights into our company's financial performance.
  • Post Journal Entries: You will post journal entries, ensuring proper accounting and financial record-keeping.
  • Prepare Reports: You will prepare various financial and accounting reports, including trial balances and other statistical reports.
Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must have a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and relevant experience. You should possess excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
