Accounting Bookkeeper Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Accounting Bookkeeper to join our team at Peel Financial Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, preparing cheques for payroll, and reconciling accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Record Maintenance: Ensure all financial records are accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
  • Payroll Preparation: Prepare cheques for payroll and ensure timely payment to employees.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and detect any discrepancies.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements and reports as required.
Requirements:
  • Education: College/CEGEP diploma in Accounting or related field.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Assist newcomers and refugees with foreign credential recognition.
  • Support for Youths: Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Provide cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.

Working Conditions: 40 hours per week, permanent position.
